Initial Consultation

Your initial consultation lasts for 90 minutes is the beginning of a therapeutic relationship that requires trust and commitment from both sides. We are aiming for a permanent fix; not mere suppression of symptoms, and achieving this can take time and commitment
My approach is holistic – a whole-being approach, so I will ask you how and what you eat and drink, how you sleep, what your stress and energy levels are, how your bowels function, your menstrual cycle – every system is interlinked and together with your present symptoms they paint a picture of your health.
As well as questioning and listening, I also use tools to help me understand what lies at the root of your illness. I use iridology to look at the iris and assess your constitution and organ function; Chinese Tongue Diagnosis provides another window into the body, while other tests like blood pressure monitoring, physical examination and stool analysis are used where appropriate. Your personal and family health history will also have a bearing on your state of health and I will ask for these details too. I will carry out some food intolerance testing during this appointment.
I also ask that you bring with you any test results you may have, as well as any supplements or medication you may be taking and before you come I’ll ask you to fill in my new patient form and bring it with you.
At the end of our consultation, we will make a plan that may include one or more of the following: herbal medicine, food supplements, dietary change, homeopathic remedies, flower essences, relaxation techniques or coping strategies. Each treatment plan is personalised: one size does not fit all.
